Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to join our administrative team. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational and analytical skills to maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, and support the firm’s financial operations. This role is essential to ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded and reported in a timely and accurate manner.
Core Responsibilities
- Reconcile Accounts: Reconcile company bank accounts and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Prepare Financial Statements: Generate financial statements such as the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow report.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all financial transactions, including expenses, invoices, and payments.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process vendor invoices, manage billing, and ensure timely collection and disbursement of funds.
- Support Audits: Assist with internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and clarifying financial data as needed.
- Reporting: Provide regular financial updates to the Controller and management team to support strategic decision-making.
- Fluency in English is required (C1 or C2 Level).
- Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Basic Accounting Knowledge: Foundational understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy and precision in managing financial data and resolving discrepancies.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, or similar platforms).
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities to effectively collaborate with attorneys, vendors, and staff.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Familiarity with trust accounting or legal billing systems is a plus.
Compensation & Hours:
- $7-$8/hr.
- The position offers the flexibility of being fully remote, the firm's regular business hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time.
