Job Summary
Price Benowitz, LLP is seeking an experienced full-time Criminal Defense Legal Assistant to support our Virginia team. The position will be based in either Fairfax, VA. This role is ideal for a legal professional with a strong background in criminal defense who is looking to contribute to a fast-paced and dynamic legal team. The Legal Assistant will play a key role in supporting attorneys, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of the Virginia office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary administrative support for criminal defense attorneys in the Virginia office.
  • Assist in preparing legal documents, case files, and correspondence for criminal cases.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, clients, courts, and opposing counsel regarding case status and deadlines.
  • Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling court appearances, client meetings, and deadlines.
  • Organize, maintain, and update case files and legal databases.
  • Conduct case-related research and assist in the preparation of trial materials as needed.
  • Ensure proper communication and follow-up with clients and other relevant parties.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Virginia office as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a criminal defense law firm.
  • Strong familiarity with criminal law procedures and case management.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document preparation.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle a high-volume caseload and meet tight deadlines.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.
