Job Description:

A busy criminal defense practice in SC is seeking an experienced criminal defense lawyer to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This position is ideal for a skilled legal professional who thrives in research, analysis, and drafting without courtroom commitments. Working closely with a senior partner, you will provide essential support on complex criminal cases by preparing high-quality legal research, motions, briefs, and memoranda.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on criminal law issues.
  • Draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with a senior partner to build strong, well-supported legal arguments.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents in criminal law, particularly in South Carolina.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in criminal defense law.
  • Strong research and writing skills, with demonstrated experience in drafting complex legal documents.
  • Knowledge of South Carolina criminal law is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Member in good standing with a state bar.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to work independently in a remote setting.
